Profile:
Bangor-born editor and author who spent a good part of her childhood in Llanerfyl, Montgomeryshire, before moving to Penygroes in Arfon. She graduated at Bangor University and undertook her MPhil there. She was editor of Golwg and Barn magazines and spent a period working as a freelance writer, editor and scriptwriter. She is now editor of Barn for the second time, and of course, she has been elected as Pentir Ward Councillor on Gwynedd Council since May 2017.

Originally from Abersoch but has settled in the catchment area of Pentir Council for approximately 30 years.  A former Chief Executive Officer with the Civil Service having worked mostly in Education, Training and Enterprise departments. Prior to retiring in 2011, he worked in the Welsh Government’s Education Department at the North Wales regional office.

Originally from Bethesda and educated at Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen. He has now settled in Bangor having lived here for over 25 years.  He has worked for the health service for 45 years, initially at the C&A and then at Ysbyty Gwynedd. He also spent a short time working for the Ambulance Service.

Profile:
Having moved from England, he has now lived on or around Penrhos Road for over 20 years, and his three children have all been educated at Ysgol y Faenol.  After a career in IT and Project Management at Wylfa Power Station, he was made voluntarily redundant so that he could have more time at home with his youngest son.  He now works part time in a local supermarket.  He was previously a school governor at Ysgol y Faenol and is an avid Welsh learner.  He is also proud to be a Liberal Democrat.

Dafydd has links with Dinas Mawddwy, Caernarfon, Tregarth and for some years now, Bangor.  He is a former Regional Director for North Wales with the Welsh Ambulance Service and an enthusiastic member of the Penrhyn Male Voice Choir. Profile:
Jane was born and bred in the area and continues to live in Fodolydd. Over the years, she has been a familiar face at Central Garage, Bangor, then in Ferodo, Caernarfon, not forgetting Spring Home, Red Wharf Bay.  She has also of course farmed throughout her life. She now volunteers for Friends of Ysbyty Gwynedd and runs a ‘Carers Outreach’ group. She is also an enthusiastic member of the Senior Citizens Club in Penrhosgarnedd.

Born and bred in Llanfairfechan and educated at Ysgol Tryfan followed by the Normal College in Bangor where he graduated in 1985 with a BA in Administration.  In 1987 he took the leap into the health service, moving to Ysbyty Gwynedd in 1987 as a student nurse and qualified as a RGN in 1990.  He continues in the profession to this day, but now works part time and supports the Covid 19 vaccination service.  In 1990 he married Helen, and they moved to Nant y Mount, Capel Graig where Dafydd their son was born.  In 1995 they moved to Treborth where both Cari and Elin their daughters were born.  His interests include cycling and running, especially on our lovely mountains, and loves nature and wildlife.  Of course, his lovely 4 grandchildren take up a lot of their time now too!

Originally from Bangor, but has lived the majority of his time in Waen Wen, Glasinfryn.  Prior to re-joining the council in 2017 he was a member of Pentir Community Council from 1976 until 2913 and was Chair twice.  He has worked as a teacher, deputy headteacher and headteacher prior to his retirement in 1992 when he was appointed as a music examiner for Trinity College, London.  He remained in that role for 24 years and was a music examiner across the globe, mostly in the Far East, Australia and New Zealand. He is the founder of Bangor City Male Voice Choir and its first conductor before retiring in 2013. He was also Vice Organist of Bangor Cathedral for 43 years.

Profile:
Originally from Bala but has now lived on a farm in Pentir for over 40 years. She worked as part of the Careers Wales team for 18 years, has been Head of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) for local social housing organisations and is now working for the Local Health Board as their Risk, Health and Safety Lead.  For a while, she was secretary of the sheep section of the North Wales Agricultural Society and is a former governor of Ysgol Rhiwlas.

Profile:
Originally from the village of Carrog near Corwen, but now settled in Pentir. Despite having been a teacher at Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen for nearly 12 years, she still sees herself as a ‘newcomer to Bangor’, but having had a close link with the city since her student days in the mid-seventies.  Now retired from teaching, having worked as a Religious Education teacher and then a lecturer at Bangor University. She has an avid interest in Welsh language issues and community projects relating to Welsh culture.  She is an editor of ‘Goriad’ the local Welsh community newspaper and a member of Côr Seiriol choir.
